All parents of children who go to St David’s College automatically become members of the Parent Teacher Association. In addition, some parents may wish to put themselves forward for election to the PTA Committee. The list of current members is available on the site. There is an annual AGM, held at the start of the Quiz Night in October of every year, and the PTA’s constitution and other relevant documents, are available for access in the Documents section.
The PTA Committee comprises parents who generously volunteer their time to arrange and co-ordinate the busy calendar of fund-raising events that take place throughout the year.
They are also responsible for organising various fund-raising schemes and projects that have been nominated. Funds are raised through events, schemes and projects as well by as donations (including gift aid).
The PTA is very grateful indeed for your support at any events, so please do come and participate. Also, we do need as many active members as possible, to lead, or help run a variety of events, schemes and projects, so please volunteer – you don’t need to be a member of the PTA Committee to run any event or project (but you need to liaise closely with a Committee member, to comply with charity law). Current event, scheme and project leaders are listed on the site.
About this Website
We aim to develop the site as a useful and easy way to find out what’s going on at St David’s College, as far as social and fund-raising activities are concerned. This might be especially handy for working parents who tend to use the Before and After School care facility and therefore may miss the opportunity to meet other parents at School.
We also hope to offer information and sources of advice that may be useful to all aspects of our own parenting, for example, there is a section on childcare vouchers and tax-saving. We also hope that you will use the site to advertise your business, company or holiday home.
The website will very much be a ‘work in progress’ for the first year. We hope to develop the resources and information available on the site as the year progresses.
We would be pleased to receive your comments and suggestions (by posting on the site where available or by email) on any topic related to the PTA or the website, or especially if you’d like to be involved with the PTA in some way. As the site is managed by volunteer parents we cannot promise to respond immediately.
All comments posted on the site are moderated by members of the Committee and we will not accept comments which should be addressed to the School or which refer to the School. We will be following best practice in terms of web safety and netiquette.
