Every year, on the first Saturday of October (to coincide with the AGM, which occupies a very brief but important section of the evening), the PTA holds a multi-media Quiz Evening for parents.
This has always been an excellent opportunity for parents to get together at the beginning of the year and for new families to mingle. The convivial atmosphere hides some fierce competition (especially amongst the Dads!). Food is provided (from a choice of either fish and chips, chicken and chips or vegetarian pasty) and is included in the ticket price, and parents bring their own nibbles, drinks and glasses.
The proceeds of this event have historically been donated to the Canterbury Oast Trust, a charity close to Mrs Wagstaff’s heart.
