Starting school for the first time, or joining a new school, can be fraught with anxiety and apprehension (and that’s just for the parents!).
Perfectly rational adults can be reduced to jibbering wrecks when getting used to a new routine; what to bring, what to wear when and who is who? New parents may look at huddles of other parents who seem to know each other very well and feel excluded and at ‘sixes and sevens’ – please don’t feel this way, we all know what it’s like at first!
So here we’d like to develop this section as a ‘Survival Guide for Parents’ or an ‘Everything I Really Wanted to Know but was Afraid to Ask…’ section. We are all in the same boat and hope that this section may help you, especially when joining St David’s College for the first time – or even for the reference of current parents.
If you’d like to participate in some St David’s events in the Summer Term before your child starts at the school, please see our Induction (do link) page for information.
Do you have any good tips to share? Whether it’s where to buy brown school shoes for under £35 or a special offer or great day out, please post your comments under the Survival Guide (do link) page.
Please be aware that all comments are moderated and that we cannot respond to any queries on the site.
If you have any queries for the School, please contact Mrs Handy, the School secretary, at Justin Hall at sarah.handy@btconnect.com or 020 8777 5852.
